Keep your device updated:

You can even send these unwanted stuffs to MicroSD card, just go to “Settings” then to app menu, then click on the app you wish to move and then select “Move to SD card” option.
Free-Up / Clear App Cache:
Cache data are another important reason of slowing down your Android device and affecting its performance. Freeing-up caches can be done in the app menu to speed up your device, or if you don’t want to get stuck in this mess then you can take help of some of the free apps over Play Store to free-up cache spaces.
Disable / Stop Animations:
This particular option should only be tried after you have understood what you are proceeding with or else you will land into a new mess. Generally, you are not allowed to developer options on Android device. But, a hidden settings option is there which gives you access to commands you may have never known of. To try this, go to “Settings > About Phone” and then scroll down to “Build Number” and here tap seven times. This way you will get access to developer options. Now, you can try some tweaks, disable animations within the OS, it’s very helpful. Go to, “Settings > Developer Options” and then scroll down to the drawing option. Here, turn off the Transition animation scale, Window animation scale and Animator during scale. This will disable animations which occur while you open, close and do other operations. Though, the interface will look a bit diminished and less attractive but is really helpful in making your device work lag free.
Custom ROM’s, Rooting and Other Optimizations:
